According to &lt;a href="http://docs.lib.noaa.gov/rescue/dwm/1934/19340917.djvu" title="US Daily Weather Maps Project, Sept 17, 1934" rel="nofollow"&gt;this weather map&lt;/a&gt; the high for September 16 in St. Louis was 66°F, falling to 52°F that night.  Must've been a pleasant perambulation.

The &lt;a href="http://www.stlzoo.org/" title="Saint Louis Zoo" rel="nofollow"&gt;Saint Louis Zoo&lt;/a&gt; is located in &lt;a href="http://www.slfp.com/ForestPark.html" title="Saint Louis Forest Park - The 'Crown Jewel' of St. Louis" rel="nofollow"&gt;Forest Park&lt;/a&gt;. The &lt;a href="http://www.muny.com/" title="The Muny" rel="nofollow"&gt;Muny&lt;/a&gt;, where Harold went for musicals and operettas, is also located in Forest Park.</description>
