I thought we'd footnoted this, but re the song in the first paragraph, it must be "I wish I were twins (so I could love you twice as much)"

Music by: Meyer, Joseph.
Words by: De Lange, Edgar, and Frank Loesser.
P/P/D: New York : Donaldson, Douglas & Gumble Inc., c1934.

Most folks who have recorded it just identify it as "I wish I were Twins." Grab a pic of the sheet music's cover for a sidebar asset.

Fats Waller recorded it in 1934. So did Henry Allen and His Orchestra. Caroll Gibbons, Valaida Snow and Coleman Hawkins did it too, but I'm not sure about the year. I suppose Harold could have heard any of these on the radio, or none. Can't find an open source mp3 for inclusion as an asset, sadly.

Wikipedia considers it to be one of the more popular tunes of 1934.
